If this sensor fails when it fails, the ECU will display an error code P00160. This means that the Crank Shaft is out of line with the Intake Camshaft. It could also be a sign of an issue with the chain or a jump in the chain link of the upper timing chain. However the code will not appear on its own, without additional information from other sensors (G4 and G40).
Testing is a bit tricky because there are two connector pins, and they have different functions but the most effective method of testing it is to measure resistance between the sensor and the ECU. It should read about 1000 ohms when the sensor is at full operation. Check key for audi signs of coolant or oil in the connector bay if there are issues with this component.
2. Injectors
Yesterday accelerating full speed from highway paytoll, I experienced an abrupt drop in power like the engine is running out of gas or injectors are not firing any more. I pulled out the spark plugs this morning and found that 3 were soaked with gasoline and the 4th was dry. When I start the engine, there are no sparks i put tissue on the top of each of the injector holes and the 3 drenched with gazoline jump out but the 4th one stays shut. I tried to test the ground connections of ECU pins 14,30, and 48/55. I got zero ohm. I assume that the problem is in another location.
I also tried to reset the PID but without success. The car is able to start if the G28 is not plugged in and is running fine when it is connected but it still is experiencing intermittent misfires at higher RPM. The coolant temperature sensor (G62) shows the wrong temperature of -49c even when i unplug it. I also noticed that the gauge for oil pressure in the cockpit shows 2 bar while the actual pressure is 0.0 if i crank up the engine.
I don't know what to do. I believe that I've ruled everything else out. I'm worried that i might have missed something. If anyone has any ideas please let me know! TIA!
3. Fuel Pump
